FESTIVAL
Lyon College Theatre Department is an active participant in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Presented and Produced by The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts
Our Fall production is entered in the Arkansas state festival where a KCACTF representative responds to each production. Each entered production is eligible for awards such as Directors Choice, Respondents Choice, and Regional Committee Choice. Productions receiving any of these awards are then considered for inclusion in the regional festival (Region VI - Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas, and New Mexico).
Students are eligible for individual awards at both state and regional level. Three students from each production are selected as Irene Ryan acting scholarship candidates to compete at the regional level, with the opportunity to compete in Washington, D.C.
